This isn't much different from 30m Facebook users, trying out a new chat-feature on day-1. It doesn't fundamentally change "social media" in any significant way.

I wonder how they define "users". Do bots count as users? Do the people that post content for psychological operations also count as users?

I wonder if Threads is only available with their app and not accessible with a regular browser. threads.com is not the service written about? The website looks like it offers a social network. That's confusing. An advantage Twitter would have if Threads is app-only is that Twitter can be accessed through a web browser without installing any applications or programs.
