A list of websites known for spreading disinformation, or misinformation, or fake news, or - well - shitposts. This is mainly a quick reference and study of resources, and when possible, a place to discuss what they post, although some of them already appear on the front page. One reason for the list is that many of these websites are rarely assessed in the same place, or with regard to the echo chambers they create by redistributing the same information. This is not expected to be a popular sub, though it is hoped that users will be interested in the project and will feel free to contribute examples and discuss any of this material. The list will hopefully develop as a useful reference, for those who like or dislike reading 'news' at the listed websites. Some of the website links noted here are regularly banned or removed from various subs at Reddit, which is one reason to study them here at Saidit. If you disagree with anything here, please say so, as this kind of discussion is one purpose of the forum.
Simply post a link to a website (the home page) that you believe spreads disinformation or misinformation. This is also a place for comments on those websites.
If the website is already listed here, please do not post it again, or the duplicate post could be removed. Instead, post additional links or comments in the comments section of the associated website post.
Please do not list websites that are known predominantly for factual reporting. If necessary, check your website for the extant of "media bias". For example, there is no need to post the Associated Press. You may post and discuss the Associated Press for their potential biases, though hopefully with good evidence for the argument. For example, the AP appears to be pro-Israel, according to their approaches and what they omit. Most news media websites can also be studied with regard to their fact checking and media bias ratings. News media websites that are highly biased, and/or dishonest, and/or misleading are most welcome in the sub.
Websites are reviewed with the help of flair, noting a range of issues with each website, from 'pants on fire', to 'half-true', or better. (Sub created by /u/socks, a mythical Democrat banned by magnora7 after the Great Interregnum of early 2022.)
