Can we implement this bot please?

It automatically posts the archive.org and archive.is links when people submit links here. This is useful when people post things behind paywalls, or link to sites with tons of Javascript and cookies.

i am against bots for the simple reason that when i click on the red envelope i am anticipating human interaction, not system messages. each time its a small disappointment but it adds up to frustration in the long run.

if we would have a separate envelope in blue, indicating bot messages, i wouldnt mind a whole bot army. like modmail basically.

I respectfully disagree.

I find it a much greater inconvenience to click on a story, and wind up at a GDPR consent page because it's washingtonpost.com or something.

We sure can man, thanks for tracking down the bot.

Not sure if this will need to be opt-in per sub though or if Said it gives it permission to post everywhere. Maybe we'll all have to vote on it.
