New electric cars can charge 400 km in 15 minutes and you can do that while grocery shopping, meaning the effective time is less than for a combustion vehicle, because of more streamlined payment systems.

I have nothing against the concept of an electric car; I just think the ones you can actually buy are dystopian means of transportation, because as an owner you can't actually do any service on them yourself. They are typically as proprietary as an iPhone. So, when it comes to whether I want to own one, the answer is that I don't want to spend money on something which is effectively a brick without help from the manufacturer after it has been bought. The same is true for, AFAIK (but please correct me), for any new car on the market (so also for non-electric cars).
