It's pretty similar to Google/same issues. I'm not real enthused with DDG either. My kingdom for a search engine better than all these???
use the following search parameters to narrow your results:
e.g. sub:pics site:imgur.com dog
sub:pics site:imgur.com dog
advanced search: by author, sub...
