They won't. When they get overwhelmed, they just shadowban everyone and cherry-pick what comments they want to approve to make visible.

When they get tired of that, they just lock the thread.

I think what this means is Reuters thinks they'll have to stop banning people and just censor instead. Cuz of inability to make money off someone who is banned so they never go to Reddit anymore. I doubt that. But twitter stopped banning when musk took over. Still censoring of course.
