I don't know if Reddit won exactly, the admins seem to have had to pull back on their draconic site ban policy for wrong think lately which suggests to me they had to sacrifice their ideology for the user count.

LOL - they banned me just three weeks ago for pointing out the widespread use of Nazi symbology in the Ukrainian military and Ukrainian society. They decided that me showing images of Ukrainian Nazis is 'promoting hate'. Yesterday they turned down my appeal. It's laughable.

Maybe it's just the transgender issue they're going lax on and the Ukranian Nazis are still verboten. Or perhaps you caught the tail end of the old regime ban hammer. Impossible to say, but it'll be interesting to see how it all works out. I believe if Reddit doesn't shift to allow a more diverse range of thought, they're going to become rapidly irrelevant, especially as the youngest generation is sick and tired of all the radical left crap Reddit loves. It has become uncool and they'll one day be the pool Reddit is hoping to get their new users from.

Your ban is for the best though, Reddit is an echo chamber and it isn't healthy to be subjected to such a distorted view of the world. It feels like a timewarp there whenever Covid comes up for instance. Like they're stuck 2 years in the past because so much discussion wasn't allowed there. Still isn't in many subs.

I don't know if you've checked out Twitter lately btw. That's the happening place, although the format isn't as conducive to conversations as the reddit tree style is. Twitter is completely disrupting legacy media these days because they can't post their false narratives anymore without getting community noted and roundly mocked on Twitter.

Although all the important stuff I see on Twitter gets posted here too.
