Exactly. I’m willing to bet they don’t clean their rooms. I know how stupid this sounds, but it’s a small win that makes you feel better.

Taking responsibility and making your self better, makes other people see you better as well.

It's not stupid at all though, when you think about it. Recognising that the problem is not other people but instead taking responsibility for their own life is a difficult step, but it starts small. Those little improvements matter, just starting with cleaning up your room becomes much more when your life continues to improve.
