When I was young, I was upset that I was so poor, I could barely afford a single game console (either a Nintendo one, or the Xbox 360) and only bought two new games a year, while having to rent all the rest. I missed out on so many great games on other consoles, like the Sega Dreamcast, the original PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PS3, PC, etc. Nowadays, I can afford any game console I want and could own a Nintendo Switch, Xbox-X, and PlayStation 5, but don't want a single one of them and mostly don't even buy Steam games nowadays because of how much the gaming industry sucks.
I specifically remember 2013 is when it all went downhill and they advertised the Xbox-One to be everything but an actual gaming machine. Not to mention the always-online-to-function, DRM B.S they tried. But that generation of game consoles was also when AAA games shot up from the $49.99 US standard to $59.99 (2013), when microtransactions and lootboxes became a thing (2015), when mandatory updates, patches, and DLC started happening on Steam and consoles without player consent (2017), and when games started being released buggy, broken, and unplayable, starting with Fallout '76 (2018).
Now, as of 2021, AAA games have a default price tag of $69.99 US, are still unplayable, buggy, broken dogshit on day one of release, and on top of it, are woke Sweet Baby shit filled with hideously-ugly, androgynous "females" that come from insecure feminist cunts and soy boys who want to destroy society and make everyone else as miserable as they are while getting a paycheck from Blackrock and BRIDGE for it.
I can't think of the last AAA game I've bought. Even Pokemon and Nintendo aren't safe from modern game sickness. The last actual game of anything I bought was the Palworld alpha; only to learn my laptop is too weak for it and it crashes after 30 seconds. I still play a hacked 'New 2DS' with Pokemon ROM Hacks to this day at the gym, though. So it's not like I stopped loving games; video games just stop loving me.
Why did gaming have to turn to shit around 2013; the same time I was finally able to afford video games?
