I was told by a UK police officer than US police are more likely to be shot by a colleague than a criminal. So they are even more dangerous to each other.

I was once told by a Christmas fairy than US citizens pronounce water as "wadder."

I was literally told that at one of the top drama schools in the UK.

The US is 40x larger than the UK geographically, so of course there is a huge range of different pronunciations.

There are three ways I have heard, "wader," "water," and, the British, "hwauter."
