I mean what's the point of it? There's only so much you can do with the Star Wars universe which is interesting to large numbers of people.
I think they are best off making more animated series.

I think they are best off memory holing all but the originals like they did with the Christmas special

LucasFilm used to have a vast array of stories in the expanded universe. With a producer and director that loved the franchise there was a lot of material to choose from. But with the people in charge who disliked, or hated the franchise I'd say, down was the only option.
