Didn't work in The Irishman because they all still had their old man postures while pretending to be young.

What was wrong with casting a younger actor and paying another person like they did in IJ3? The de-aged CGI looks like shit to me (I'm remembering Tron, but I know there have been others in the past few years I've also thought looked trashy)

I guess because he'll be playing an age he was in a previous film so they want it to match up.

Even so, I'd rather Hollywood acknowledge reality - we can't stop aging - and let it not match up.
