My verdict: Dislike and definitely I won't be watching it based on this trailer :\ Remember that 2006 movie The Prestige where David Bowie played Tesla? That's the kind of movie I wanted to see. With the above movie, it's like they are pulling a Sofia Coppola in Marie Antoinette and introducing contemporary elements to the costume drama, and I really really don't like that. I want costume dramas to be costume dramas with nothing distracting from that. The scene in the trailer where Tesla's crush in historically correct dress is doing a web search on a MacBook laptop commenting on the number of Telsa images on Google frankly looks like a glaring Google & Mac advertorial dumped smack-dab in the middle of the trailer for good measure. She literally says: "If you Google Nicola Tesla" and not the more neutral "If you search for Nicola Tesla.", which again makes me suspect this trailer is meant to be a trailer for the movie and an advert for Google at the same time. I don't want costume dramas to be "Drunken History"; in that case you might as well be watching a ContraPoints video on Youtube instead of a biopic that purports to be a movie about actual historic events.
