This is a little said, tbh. They're trying to make reddit seem more like a community, and less like modern Usenet. But reddit has been bad for community, it's a bunch of echo chambers where people learn how to become even more intransigent in their beliefs. Subs like T_D, SRS, Conservative and many others are self described as safe spaces for people with a given mind set, and you will literally be banned for disagreeing with the prevailing philosophy. People are thinking "I must be correct, nobody disagrees with me", conveniently forgetting that they kicked all the nay sayers out of the village a long time ago. And now reddit wants to double down, they want to give their destructive platform a veneer of legitimacy as a "community" where ideas are exchanged.
