So all of this is over 3rd party APIs that can bypass data collection and ads?

Not exactly; it's over the new, extremely costly access to an API that allowed reddit powermods to mass ban users based on participation in other communities, apply complex post and comment filtering, and generally just suppress users, communities, and discussion that they didn't like. It also allowed for 3rd party apps, but the major butthurt from all these mods is because they have less power than they did before.

Really? That's what they're sad to lose?

My main problem is that search engines like camas.unddit.com stopped working.

Do you have a link to a powermod admitting this?

Most shit will stop working.

But the powermods are happy that shit like unddit.com stopped working since it makes it harder to see how much shit they are deleting.

They aren't happy that the admins are also nuking their powermod tools forcing them to actually mod shit manually. The horror. So they are ejecting the toys from the pram.

Reddit admins can simply overturn the pram then find a new baby for pacifying duty.
