I almost view their violence shitposting as comedy at this point because they are so stirred up and disoriented by their own misinformation. There’s about one half assed “bash the fash” type of post in my local area subreddit a week. Well, by the time they misdirect themselves the wrong way about 10 times, they aren’t bashing anything. They’ll decide some alternative health person who isn’t even political is the fash over some Covid vax type of statement. Then someone with a mean bumper sticker that flipped them off in traffic. Then, a church. A few months ago, someone asserted they heard a racist joke about Asians from a random other customer at a driving range and people suggested everything from finding the mean joker to harassing the driving range with mean phone calls to calling the police and “reporting felony racist activity,” which isn’t even a thing. They are dumber than I ever imagined. Meanwhile, in this area, there are literally some open WNs, Birchers and the like that have been around for ages that they would view as Satan but afaik haven’t had any issues with these buffoons.

This is why people who get radicalised by subs and actually act out are usually lone wolves. If you even try the have a conspiracy with people online you will always end up getting pulled into the culture of people who never even leave their bedrooms.

Yeah, I'm trying to imagine the look of the average redditor.... Stocky 5" 6', cola-imbused colon, neckbeard hairs scrachted off onto a crumby keyboard. But then you're on r/liberal firearms and they are all about shooting to death anyone who isn't shouting the same bullshit they spout. They aren't in their basements ,they are at the range (probably with a purple rattle can paintjob on a French bullpup)

Like I have guns too to protect myself from fascist, or any other fucker to step on my rights. I'm rambing some, but my point is they aren't in their basements and they are diverse looking crowd. AND they are armed. The article suggests they are eager to go (even more) unhinged.

Seems harmless to me. Teenage angst is part of Reddit's problem. Meh.

But the hypocrisy or one of the most obvious, rabid Nazi websites online, fn. 1, 2, to make this claim is absolutely ridiculous, and there isn't much evidence for their claims.

Hard disagree. They’ll eventually do it. They’re actively dehumanizing people they disagree with.

I don't care they allow that type of content. What bothers me is the hypocrisy of only allowing it from people of a specific political ideology.

Reddit is not alone. Interesting that they use threats of violence as an excuse to ban. That was what finally did me in- though to be fair I knew that it was inevitable and tended to measure my speech less and less- though I kept everything legal.
