Something rotten at the heart of Reddit. Reddit hired an admin who is trans, and zir husband has posted some wild pedo stuff. That admin apparently is deleting articles that even vaguely mention zir, which has caused a Streisand Effect. The best explanation I’ve found so far is by Graham Linehan.

We're not "shills" for supporting trans people.
My best friend is trans and I didn't even know until she told me. She's the most beautiful person I know inside and out, and she hates transtrenders and child-abusing fetish freaks like the ones in the link.

When you suggest that I can't know about your friend's problem without knowing him personally, you admit by implication that his transgenderism is a subjective thing. My perspective on this is a bit more grounded. I only claim to know that he's not a woman.

I also know that he is not a woman "on the inside", as it were, because no one but himself is privy to his internal experience. So it is with all of us, male and female alike; we are each the sole experiencers of each our physical beings, mind included. We are unable to leave our bodies and go experience the internalities of others' bodied experiences. Therefor it is impossible to "know" any such thing as that one inhabits the "wrong" body. It's yet more absurd to claim to know that a particular other kind of body is the "correct" body.

Really, all I know is what you represented to me. You've represented to me that your 18 year-old friend was able to get bottom surgery.

She is a girl.

My best friend is 19. She knew she was a girl her whole life. Her parents were supportive of her and she lived as a girl without any medical interventions until she hit her early teens and got a puberty blocker. She later had that taken out, went on estrogen, and got surgery.

She is happy now. She never would've been happy if she were forced to live as a boy. In fact, she probably would've ended up committing suicide like so many other trans people who don't get the support they need and aren't allowed to transition.

She's not hurting anyone and just wants to live her best life and be happy. Why would you want to prevent someone's happiness?

You are against life if you want to prevent someone's happiness and bring about more suicides.

hatred for a young girl

I hesitate to even bother but the thought of another preteen kid being destroyed by leftist propaganda truly breaks my heart.

Please consider the following with as little prejudice as you can muster, I promise it is not coming from any kind of hate.

Every spectrum has a center. Everyone on a spectrum can be pulled in either direction to some extent. When you participate in affirming trans beliefs you are giving alcohol to a alcoholic. You are telling a schizophrenic that the voices they hear are real. You are pulling them in further into their psycosis.

Before evil gripped the world real psychologists treated gender dysphoria with therapy and literally 90% of preteen trans kids were cured by going through puberty. That is the vast majority CURED by being allowed to experience the natural hormones of their sex. This is being taken away from them with hormone blockers by people pretending to help them. Modern psychology is literally taking the natural cure they would experience without intervention away. Everything that psychologists say should be considered propaganda. They are not good people. They are not your friends. They are not trying to help.

If therapy alone could help 90%, then therapy with testosterone or estrogen according to the sex would likely be 100% effective.

Please stop participating in the greatest evil humanity has ever invented. Please stop helping them destroy these children.

The suicide rate for trans people, even those who have support is off the charts. The suicide rate for trans kids allowed to be cured by puberty is no higher than the general population.

Please stop.

She's 19 years old. She's also a centrist, like we are.

My best friend was cured by transitioning. She is happy now and never would've been if she'd not been able to transition.

As long as this isn't the result of hormone blockers and child grooming I'm relieved.

I would add, though, that happiness is a feeling and it's not true that you can't be happy if you didn't do a thing. As a kid there were many things I was terrified of and imagined i could never be happy if they happened, or in other cases didn't happen. When those things game to pass not in my favor I learned to be happy anyway. That you can't imagine being happy living with something you would rather not does not constitute proof that in fact happiness is not possible.

For example one might resurrect the now dead practice of therapy which helps people accept the body they have.

She had a puberty blocker but it was later taken out after she no longer needed it. She was not groomed, though. Everyone should agree that child grooming is wrong.

Gender Dysphoria is not the same as childhood fears. It's a difference in someone's brain.

Therapy isn't dead, but it doesn't cure or effectively treat Gender Dysphoria.
