Look into the early history of Fakebook, Twitter, Reddit, etc., and you will see each had their own examples of 'growing pains'. As I recall, the migration from Myspace hobbled Zucky Zoidberg for a time. This is typical for every company that seeks to compete with a big name...at least one that is shooting itself in the foot, by screwing over its patrons. Expats from Youtube are taxing the limits of Bitchute, d.tube, lrby.tv, etc. It is standard practice for such competitors to start out small, and gradually build up as the need arises. Rapid growth is seldom in the business plan, nor in the budget.
