Reddit leftists having an amusing breakdown in a /news thread talking about Indian internet shutdown. Modi is trying to provide citizenship to immigrant groups, which have been vulnerable due to their non-citizen status. These protesters would be called Nazis and shut down here.

Cognitive dissonance to the max. They keep saying "power to the people, government is authoritarian, hooray protesters" only to be repeatedly contradicted by knowledgeable Indian redditors who inform them that the protesters are ANTI immigration and the government is defending oppressed minorities.

They can't deal with it and resort to emotional attacks. It is all quite amusing. This is what happens when you try to shoehorn every idea into a right/left, racist/PC, Trump/good-people dichotomy.

I wonder sometimes how people can be so dumb.

Then I realize that 50% of the world is dumber than that.
