I posted this on /r/linux but it was removed. I'll be trying this site out after 10 years of using reddit. I just can't anymore:
Next I guess the security community should get rid of the terms black hat and white hat. Red Hat should change their name too since it could be insensitive to Native Americans. Code Pink should change their name as it promotes gender conformity.
Those of you wasting time supporting this are virtue signaling. You're not doing anything positive by policing language. The U.S. is falling apart but pat yourselves on the back because you did something that makes you feel morally superior.
Use that energy to do something difficult. Use that energy to solve problems that cause real world misery and suffering. This ain't it.
