If 6 was 9 and Fela Kuti's upside down are both my go to tunes at the moment. Experience were great but band of gypsies are out of this world.

I'm on a bit of a binge myself atm, my first time really listening to Jimi and watching his stuff. It seems everyone feels his best work was TJHE/and a Band of Gyspies, but after that things were a lil choppy.

How do you feel about his later work, and do you have any recommendations? Also, what are your thoughts on his death? I honestly always had heard he overdosed on barbiturates or heroin, but after looking into it, it seems pretty evident that he was killed (he was a target of the FBI's COINTELPRO as well as Project MH-CHAOS, the FBI was keeping tabs on him like crazy. He didn't use heroin and had a barbiturate tolerance as he suffered from chronic insomnia; he only took his regular dose of sleeping pills and had very little alcohol in his body, but a lot in his lungs.. They said he died before the alcohol was even metabolized, which usually happens within 15 minutes of ingesting it, so the theory of him choking on his vomit or throwing up the wine was out.. They said it was like he was water-boarded with wine and it was something they had never seen before; someone who had drowned to death on wine). Stories and testimonies don't align with what happened at the scene when his body was discovered, whatsoever.

I was just watching this, (man was he messed up on what appears to be psychedelics here, still said some interesting/funny things).

If I recall, it was his crazy mobster manager with red wine, jealous that he was trying to break free. Kinda like Cobain and others.

Considering that extreme psychos would rather murder you than let you be free - you must wonder about all the abuse that doesn't result in death (or is covered up).

Gonna watch your links now...

I heard the Misadventure verdict was over ruled in favour of medical malpractice ??? also my mother in law lived next door to him and mama cass when they resided in Notting hill in the 60's she said they were very smelly people. If you haven't heard Rainbow Bridge album there's a killer tune called "hey babe there's a new sun rising" one of my favourites.

"hey babe there's a new sun rising"

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm gonna check it out right now. And lmao!!:

lived next door to him and mama cass when they resided in Notting hill in the 60's she said they were very smelly people.

From the two documentaries I watched on him the other day (one being this one), he looked like he was a smelly, dirty dude. It seemed like he was into the hippy life-style, hardcore. He was described as using psychedelics multiple times daily, almost like a heroin addict. That was his main vice though from what I've read and seen, outside of psychedelics, the only thing he used was sleeping pills regularly as he had chronic insomnia.

But for a dude tripping 24/7 while recording music and doing live shows, I doubt he found time to shower often lmao.

That's what life is all about, right? Life is a pay 2 play game!

Thanks though, I thought it was fitting for a sub about life lmao! :)

Until it's game over.

Even after it's game-over, yo family best put down a few racks for putting you in the ground, bruh!

"Funerals can cost between $1,500 and $15,000, depending on many factors, such as the level of services (coffin type, "do you want that nice wood or that cheap wood, fam? You wouldn't bury your beloved family member in Oriented Strand Board, would you?", as well as the type of service) and the location."

Death is a scam.

An OSB coffin wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for all the toxic glue. Back when my Grandpa died (was cremated, expensively) and I was suicidal (not because of him), I was looking into green options, including just a cotton sack. It's a scam too - with ridiculous laws.

I was also trying to devise a way to secretly commit suicide and be buried simultaneously - to just disappear. One way: Imagine a box trap but instead you invert the box over a hole, put a guillotine blade and/or spikes and such facing down, and put a lot of dirt and grass and leaves in the box overflowing on top. Then take a fuck tonne of ketamine or sleeping pills or whatever and when you go unconscious your hand pulls the string!

Such a nasty way to go though if I'm being honest lol. And the shitty thing about substances and pills, is that we all have unique metabolisms - some of us may require more or less to OD. And just because you OD'd, doesn't mean it's gong to be a pleasant or "successful" experience lol you can still survive with organ or brain damage, and then your life would be worse than it was before the attempt! Hell can always burn hotter!

But I feel once people go down that dark avenue of thoughts caused by a lot of painful experiences in their life that lead to suffering, they come out on the other end being much more emphatic and caring people, while eventually reaching a breaking point of "not giving a fuck". There's only so much pressure until you just stop giving a fuck (which can be a good thing, depending on how far you take it). The empathy is a really good thing too; I know I became a much more emphatic individual after experiencing some dark shit at a young age during my teens.

Indeed. That's why all of my suicide attempts were unsuccessful - and I unharmed. I knew that it actually CAN get worse, so I needed to either get it right or not at all. Since I was in that anti-depressant fog I could not research for shit - and the internet was no help with all the bullshit censorship etc. Coming out of the fog I made sure to learn ways to do it properly and with finality.

Despite the pros and cons of the Dalai Lama, I agree with his sentiments, that compassion is the noblest virtue.
