If true, that photo-editing is directly from the Joseph Stalin playbook. (Stalin had people who had become political enemies edited out of historic photos.)

It's very clear that it's been edited when you see it on the website. They try to cover their asses by saying:

Lets dispel with this fiction that Dublin Pride doesn't know what they're doing. They know exactly what they're doing.

Uhhhh that was their response to getting called out? Not just removing the picture entirely? Wow.

Yes, it's "obvious." But I don't think that's intentional. To my untrained eye, it looks like somebody unskilled made an honest attempt at making it look realistic.

But let's give them the benefit of the doubt. Let's suppose it was meant to look obvious. My first question is, "why do it?" I'm going to be extremely generous and assume once again for the sake of argument that they have a perfectly sound answer to that question. My next question: "Why oh why would you think that that would ever be perceived as a good look when your critics accuse you of trying to rewrite history???"

They want to prove being trans was always a thing, and they were fighting on the frontlines. LGB were cowards and they saved the day.

I guess they are pathological narcissists so it makes sense they want to be the center of everything.

How did they think it was in any way acceptable to edit a historical picture in order to change the content of a sign of a demonstrator to fit their own agenda? Shameful.

There's a weird motif of document alteration/forgery. Birth certificates are changed, as if the doctor accidentally marked "F" on December 3, 1989. There are services where people will photoshop childhood photos in a gender-affirming manner (e.g. giving the photo of "boy you" pigtails and a pink dress in a photo of you sitting on grandpa's lap).

Altering protest signs at a protest for a gay man's murder to make "TRANS RIGHTS" front and center seems especially ghoulish.

Let's just edit the historical memory some more. Taking the words lesbian and gay and turning them from meaning homosexuality into pansexuality apparently wasn't enough for them anymore.
