Question for our regulars:

Do you want me to open up s/LGB now? I've been holding off since there aren't a lot of us on this site as it is, but SaidIt is bound to get an uptick in traffic again due to Reddit going scorched-Earth with its moderators.

Our sub here will continue to be in super-Restricted mode until we regain a mod team and have Admin support for trolls and astro-turfing, but options for s/LGB are:

1) super-Restricted like this sub: only Approved Users may post/comment freely, and all other comments will be manually reviewed and approved/removed
2) normal Restricted mode: only Approved Users may post freely, but anyone can comment
3) Open / no restrictions (other than sub rules)

I think 2 is a good middle ground

I went with option 2, with plans/hopes to move to option 3 in the future. You've been added!

And thank you for your input as always, I appreciate you. It was only you and Xandit who commented, but I see the upvotes on both of you, so it seemed like that was the right direction to go in.

I want to lean toward 3 so that it grows fast, but if you think it will be the wild west maybe 2 is better for now, until there's a mod or something. But not super restricted.

It's less that I think it will be wild west and more that I don't have the ability to commit to full-time modding this sub and that sub. I'm the only full-permissions mod, so the bulk of upkeep falls on my shoulders, with NS offering support as she can. IPD and Rez are gone for good, and I don't think Mov is coming back either :(

My hope is that as our subs and users grow, we'll be able to open up mod applications again and find more people willing to invest in either space. As we get more mods and people willing to shoulder responsibility, both subs can open up more.

There is still a dream of making our own offsite BTW, it's just something that has to wait until we have people to lead it in the right direction. IPD was that kind of take-charge goal-oriented person, but I definitely am not.
