32 years ago, I was a field organizer for the Human Rights Campaign Fund. It disgusts me to see how low they've now sunk.

I used to keep them in high regard and i actually really liked their symbol wich was just an equals sign. I would even read their news letter instead of just seeing it as spam.

From my perspective they went totally off the rails in several ways which stacked together. 1 was marriage equality and public opinion finally flipping over 51%. They became the winning side of the argument and began to lose importance. The bureaucratic infrastructure doesn't want to shut down. The people who work as highly paid administrators want to keep their jobs despite the fact that their job was mostly "over". They just shift over to another fight which was the full gender ideology stuff. 2 Chad Griffin was installed as a trojan horse for the purpose of credibility laundering. He was a political actor who worked for the Clintons and Hillary was ramping up to run again in 2016. She was caught off guard in 2008 because she made some incredibly racist comments towards Obama and had a bad record on gay rights. Griffin was installed in the HRC and he was already neck deep in neoliberal tokenism. Many in my circles were deeply confused when the HRC made an early endorsement of Clinton considering her record. I was like yeah well he literally works for her. The organization was squarely a neoliberal reputation laundering agency by this point and so was now obsessed with finding minority groups with vapid ideologies.

From Wikipedia:

Griffin served as president of the Human Rights Campaign, the largest LGBT rights organization in the United States, from 2012 to 2019.

So Chad Griffin was leading HRC prior to the gay marriage decision and during the pivot to TQ+.

And even looking back, it seems like there was a gradual trend of towards HRC leaders being members of the professional political class.

In his bio it says he received lots of praise from trans groups when he was appointed. Yes because politicians love trans issues since they can say basically anything and it's all meaningless.

He seems to have vanished from Twitter. Hope it’s not permanent

Odd that would happen with the new ownership.

It’s possible he’s taken himself off for a bit. He’s done it before. Hope so.
