so we hung some in a tree and let birds eat them

Oooh, I just thought of something. Make yourself the wicked witch of the block, and make "crow-balls" to hang in the trees. Nothing sweet or salty since that's bad for them, but something with plain peanuts or seeds of some sort.

You have a little over a month to make crow friends subtly by leaving bits here and there around your tree. And then on Halloween morning, decorate the tree like it's crow-Christmas.

You may not get the kids to come by, but you'll definitely stand out when the crows come to roost, LOL

Haha natural decorations. Do you have a recipe? I'm googling and can't pull one up. Lots of instructions on how to get rid of crows. Terror eyes are a thing. Huh.

Start out with seeing what your local crows like - peanuts and sunflower seeds (in the shell) are usually good to begin with. Leave a couple handfuls scattered for them around the same time every day so they learn your pattern. Once you know what they like, look up "bird seed balls", and instead of seed, use whatever your crow bros enjoy.
