A large proportion of the population are receiving welfare. In Ireland, you get more money from the government for not working than you do working for a minimum wage job. Especially during the lockdowns.

Honestly, I think welfare should exist only for people who can’t work because of disabilities.

In Italy you don't get anything for not working.I'm amazed how others countries can afford paying people like that. But we're so in debt.

Italy has the right idea, though hopefully you get your debt sorted out. In Ireland, we are also in debt, but you can get on social welfare even before the pandemic just because you didn’t want to work for as long as you want. How do our taxpayers afford it? Well, by our government selling our country out to Brussels, the UN, Silicon Valley and other vultures of course.

Welfare more than minimum wage seems like paradise. In Italy welfare is called mom and dad ahahah

In my opinion, charities and the help of neighbours and family are better than government welfare.
