I think that the irritation at gay men on the part of some rad fems, or just women in general, comes from a sense of unfairness and of being used, because it's overwhelmingly women, especially liberal women, who have helped gay men achieve rights and who have protected gay men, and from whom? Heterosexual men.

So now we have men, mostly heterosexual men, claiming to be women while destroying women's sex-based rights and women's privacy/dignity/safety/sports, and what do some gay men do? Side with the men.

And that pisses women like me off, because I fought for gay men over the course of decades, helped dying gay men when no one would touch them, etc., and now I see gay men at Pride parades attacking lesbians for stating that they are only attracted to other women.

I see, in the US, gay men like the F-er who is behind the atrocious Equality Act, Congressman David Cicilline, do their absolute best to send women back to the kitchen.

Cicilline and the other gay male politicians (Scott Wiener of California deserves to go to HELL) pushing gender identity politics, would have women at risk, not just when we leave the house, but in hospitals, nursing homes, domestic violence shelters, rape crisis centers, AIRPORTS, where we will be forced to room with and /or accept the touch of men in the private parts of our bodies solely because they claim to be women.

So yeah, anger. If I had known that a good % of gay men were going to gleefully kick women in the teeth, including women who had risked their lives to help them, then I wouldn't have done it.

On an individual level, I would have helped gay men, but I would not have stuck my neck out to fight for gay men's rights had I known that from around 2015 on, gay men would turn on women, and strip women of our rights, our dignity, our privacy, our sports and our safety for the benefit of other men. Nope.

I don't regret gay men's rights at all - beyond being fond of the gay men in my life, I believe that everyone should have the same civil and human rights.

What I regret is that I myself spent time fighting for gay men's rights given the contempt so many gay men seem to feel for women, including lesbians, and our own basic human and civil rights.

When I fought for the rights of gay men, I wasn't expecting anything in return. At that point, gay men had it bad (and yes, I'm guessing I'm a few decades older than you).

Women had it bad too, but we weren't beaten up on the street for appearing "swishy" like gay men were. We were just cat-called and sexually assaulted. So women were in a position to feel sorry for gay men and help them IRL, which many did. There was a real phenomena called "f*g hags" back then - women and gay men who were intense best friends.

But what I wasn't expecting was for so many gay men to kick women in the face, and yes, I think women, especially lesbians -who were some of the few with the courage to nurse gay men during AIDS - don't deserve it.

No one in a billion years would ever guess that decades in the future, women, our rights/sports/dignity/privacy/safety would be under attack by men claiming to be women.

Beyond that it was the women's vote that got laws passed to give gay men rights, it would only be common decency to see the unjustness of the attack on women and help them. Instead, a good % of gay men, including gay men in power, have joined the Men's Demands Movement that is trans activism.

The situation in the US is different from the UK: A large % of the US population was very anti-gay. IMO, gays were just starting to gain widespread acceptance among more conservative-leaning Americans when the trans started horning in on the gay rights movement in the 90s.

Now, the backlash has begun because of the insanity and demands of the TQ+ This time, I'm staying out of it. Let the powerful gay men who are so gleefully destroying the lives of American women fight for their TQ + brethren. We women don't owe any of them anything.

I've come to the conclusion, after a relatively long time on Earth, that men cannot understand, at all, what women go through. And I am far from a man-hater, having had extremely close male friends, including gay male friends.

I think some men can feel sympathy and protectiveness towards women -and the gay men of my youth tended to be very sweet and much more likely to understand women than straight men.

But, while I think that men can and should be GC - because everyone should - and also advocate for women's rights, I don't think men can be feminists in the way women are, because men just don't get women's experiences. How could they?

This makes the claims of transgender activists, such as "transwomen are women" even more insulting, because these men are not just appropriating women's experiences - which they have no friggin' clue about - but also trying to claim our biology. And our biology, to a huge extent, is the source of women's oppression.

Pregnancy, menstruation, childbirth, menopause, and the myriad differences between the bodies of men and women are not experienced by men, no matter how they feel in their heads.

Since the vast majority of trans-identified males don't pass, they shouldn't even attempt to claim that they are treated as women. They are not.

Trans-identified males are treated as men, whether they dress as men or not. Or they are treated as some strange and exotic creature, which many "liberals" fetishize and many conservatives think are nuts, but they are not treated as women.

I first learned of gender critical feminism when it became a thing in the UK so I am familiar with Stonewall and - what was her name - Ruth Hunt? - who sold LGB out, especially her fellow lesbians.

I can see why men don't find "transmen" as offensive as women find "transwomen" because women's biology plays such a huge role in our lives. For instance, our menstrual cycle alone affects our lives every month for around 40 years - that is, when we're not pregnant. But I still think it's the height of chutzpah to claim to be a different biological sex, as so many of them are claiming now.

I can guarantee that that "transman" has no idea what you feel as a man - how could she - from the time she was in the womb her very formation was different. Then add to that societal expectations that start at birth, and even if she thinks she feels like a man, what does that feel like?

And the idea that a woman can be a gay man is ludicrous. We don't have a penis. Gay men's sexuality is pretty much focused on the penis. It's really an affront for a woman to claim she should be allowed to enter the gay men's club - so perhaps now you understand how women feel when men enter our private spaces?

Except a gay "transman" still can't rape and impregnate a gay man, so even then, the comparison doesn't go far enough.

Yes, Pink News is not a friend to LGB - it's just incredible that all these former gay orgs, and all these powerful gays, were so willing to completely sell out the purpose of their being, which was the rights, health and happiness of people attracted to their own sex.
