It has come to a point where I wish pansexuality was brought back. It was a sexuality that included attraction to trans-people, and it was in the middle ground where it followed the pronoun people while acknowledging that biological sex exists. Like... they formed BECAUSE the Bs were being too exclusionary. Notice how it hasn't been used as much once TWAW/TMAM rolled around?

I think... pan is now transphobic? Because you have to have a special sexuality to be attracted to trans people? But since TWAW and TMAM so... pan got whacked and Bi is the new hotness? Can I just say my sexual orientation is identity fetishist?

Did it really acknowledge that biological sex exists, though?

My understanding is that it actually did the opposite-- that the term serves to "repeal and replace" the entire concept of bio-sex with "gender". So "pansexual" in fact means "attraction to all genders". Indeed, it's such a complete repudiation of biological sex that it doesn't even pose as a sexual orientation at all (since these are by definition based on bio-sex: your own + that of those to whom you're attracted = sexual orientation), but rather attempts to invent something else entirely: GENDERual orientation (whatever the hell THAT is).

Still, I'm with you on wanting SOME way for bisexuals to opt out of "trans validation duty"-- let the genderists go pester "pansexuals" instead, by all means! Whether they really exist or not, I don't even care!
