Surely it would be far easier to create one giant flag for narcissists and be done with it.

He is definitely one of us.

Honestly, I wouldn’t even mind if the government banned pride parades. These parades make us look bad.

EDIT: Feel free to change my mind. I’ve heard that pride parades in Japan are tame.

I wouldn't mind pride parades if it was for LGB ONLY (<--- I literally changed my mind while writing this sentence) and no public nudity or fetish gear, no creepy men in puppy costumes, nothing sexual, but then again, what is even the point of having a pride parade for LGB? I want a pride parade for left-handed people and ex-Muslims too, if that's the case.

Parades used to be a fun way for a community to come together and celebrate, now narcissistic attention whores are feeling way too entitled about it, and you know what? Nobody owes you a parade, Susan! Just fuck off already. You ruined it.

I'm 100% in favor of this. Pride actually damages countries that aren't in favor of homosexuality to begin with. A lot of Russians, especially the younger generations from what I've heard, actually have a negative view of homosexuality because they legitimately think that all homosexuals are attention-starved special snowflakes who whip their dicks out in the street and demand undying support.

I also love it when Americans tell me that Pride "gave me my rights" and that I should be thankful for it because it's "progress." Fuck no, it's making people back home see me as a narcissistic pervert!

If that was the case then I should have a way more negative view on heterosexuality. Straight people do much worse, both in the streets during certain events and on TV, movies, etc. But the thing is that we aren't told to associate their acts with straight people as a whole, while if a gay guy posts a pic in a harness suddenly he and all gay men are huge degenerates.

I know someone like Cicciolina who is a female porn star not because I watched any movies of her, but because straight people are that comfortable with just casually bringing up straight porn stars in conversations, and it isn't even regarded as something particularly sexual. Somehow straight people on media have mentioned her enough that I can recall her name. Hell, now that I think about it I dunno how many times I've seen both male and female straight porn stars on afternoon TV.

Cicciolina? LMAO She is italian, worked as porn star many years ago, managed to become a politician too (because italian politics is like a whore-house). Is she famous abroad too?

I don't know how famous she is, but I've heard boomers mentioning her enough that her name came to my mind when I was writing this comment. The only thing I knew is that she is a former porn star and that she is Italian.

Completely agreeing with this.

And this is happening all the time. If straight person failed or looks ridiculous - it is because they did bad, but if LGB(T) person did this - it is because they are gay.

Very good example is Mass Effect games. Mass Effect 1-3 had many gay characters and gay relationships, and they are praised as masterpieces. However, when Mass Effect 4 failed and was a bad game, majority of critics and youtubers were not focusing that game was just poorly done, everyone was saying "LGBT and feminists ruined this game, they added gays in game and developers had no time on doing game, as they were doing gays instead". If game is great - they ignoring amount of gays in game and praising straight people for doing good job on making good game, but if game bad and have LGB in it - it is LGB who ruined the game, even thought it was made by same straight people. And same when game fails and that game has no LGB, it is not said that "heterosexuals ruined the game, because they were focusing on romantic options and not on gameplay".

I beg to differ. Straight people don't host parades with dildos and fetish gear in public spaces, often inviting children. Straight people don't list that they're straight in their social media bios. They don't wear "straight flags" (yes, there are a few designs out there. No, they are not popular.) they don't pick some random ass activity and claim it to be a "Straight thing" or "straight culture", they don't cry "heterophobia" at every inconvenience, they don't claim to be oppressed for being straight, they don't demand special privileges, they don't say anyone who isn't straight isn't cool enough or is boring...

It's not comparable. Sorry not sorry.

They actually do, there are festivals of sexuality, or regular festivals with sexualizations (like famous brazillian ones), and there even BDSM and furry parades (gladly they are small). Furry and BDSM want to get into LGBTQIA+ nowadays too (as the seeing how people of color were added to LGBTQIA+, and that every month new letter is added), even thought they are mostly straight.

However, none of those events is shown on TV, while Pride Parades are shown, as it is "progressive thing to do". Same as every company for pride month is changing their logo (and only for western countries), but exaclty at 00:00 1st July their logos are changed back. It is just a way to them to "show how good and progressive they are" (same with BLM sign, too), and way to sell merchandise, to get tax incentives and enrich their companies even more.

Straight people don't need to list they're straight or wear flags, because heteronormativity is a thing. Most people assume other people are straight, and straight people will often show their sexuality in other ways. They might not claim something as straight, but many straight people will bully you for liking something that isn't considered "straight" enough. If you live in Spain, speak Spanish with everyone, and all your posts are in Spanish, you don't need to point out that you speak Spanish in your profile or in a resumé.

I dunno how prude straight people are in Russia, but nothing of what I say was an exaggeration, at least in my country. Pride lasts only a day per year, but public displays of sexuality by straight people happen many other times per year. The thing though is that straight sexuality is so normatized that you can put a huge banner of a naked straight couple and people will think it's less sexual than a gay couple kissing. Straight singers release music videos that are almost softcore porn (this is true for USA too). I really don't think I've ever seen a picture of gay people in a pride parade that is more sexual than so many music videos made by straight artists that get displayed casually on TV.

There's a comment above mentioning people half naked in pride french kissing. I find it kinda funny because I've seen plenty of straight couples doing it in public spaces in broad daylight, like in parks or in the subway, and that was just because. It didn't happen during a parade or a specific event, they were just casually french kissing and groping each other in public and nobody was shaming them for it.

And frankly I couldn't care less about gay people being seen as "normal". We aren't a single entity to be seen as normal. And neither are straight people. Not even straight people are living up to the standards of the heteronormative society, but gay people need to live up to them just to get a minimum of respect? Nah.

I don't need some version of gay men/lesbian women that is "clean" for straight people. This is only good for the straight people themselves and for the TQ+. The TQ+ love to ignore our sexualities, so a version of gay people that is clean of sexuality would be really convenient for them.

Pride most certainly did not give you your rights. Pride is counterproductive - it’s poisoning the well. The rights gay people have won in western countries were achieved because we fought for our rights through activism and because straight people in our lives saw our struggles through their interactions with us. We got our rights despite pride parades, not because of them.

It’s typical of certain people from countries like America, Britain, Germany, Sweden and Ireland to think that people all over the world are exactly like them. But that’s just not the case at all.

It's a good place for same sex couples to hold hands with little to no ridicule.

I'm assuming you're not an American? The government couldn't ban pride parades even if they wanted to.

I live in Ireland. Our government can’t pan pride parades because we’re in the European Union. And also, our courts would strike down a pride parade ban as unconstitutional.

Here’s where I’m at: I’m a regular person who just happens to be a lesbian. It’s not any any different than being a regular person who happens to have red hair or green eyes. We don’t have parades for hair or eye color, so why should we have them for sexual orientations?

I am pretty sure Pride Month was created by big companies to sell merch and in-game/in-program products. And has nothing to do with LGB at all.

Hot take: If there is a Pride Train there needs to be a train for every other random niche group.

A Mental Illness train for those of us with mental disorders. Staffed by only mentally ill people, of course. All also have to wear their diagnosis on a shiny badge, like an accessory, the same way "Pride" treats homosexuality as a fun quirk.

A Blonde train only for Blondes. We're tired of jokes about us being stupid, air-headed, and promiscuous! Wait, nevermind, This would never fly. People might mistake it for Hitler's Aryan Express. Forget this one.

A furry train for furries. All staff have to wear a fursuit and have to use their fursona names.

A reptilian train for lizardpeople, only staffed by shapeshifting lizard aliens. They may not control the government, but they do control your public transport!

AND SO FORTH. Basically my point is, homosexuality is - and should be - a small part of someone. NOT their defining trait. And for many, it's not even a positive or neutral thing. Sometimes it sucks and we don't want to "celebrate" it. Sometimes we'd rather distract ourselves with something else to forget the depressing reality of it, and not have this "pride" shit shoved in our faces to remind us of it.

I want the mental illness train. It's way more problematic and bigger part of me, than my passion for pussy lol

Question: what would happen if someone who’s openly GC and/or critical of TRA narrative/tactics (Julie Bindel, Andrew Doyle, Allison Bailey et al.) gets on this train?? Would they get kicked out, harassed throughout the trip, both?
