Do you carry a pink bow with you and place it atop your head whenever you start feeling femme-ish? If you were feeling dudely two minutes ago and you suddenly go through your transformation and I call you a "he" but you are now a "she" how big of a scene are you going to cause?

This was exactly my thought process when a friend in her late 20s made this sort of announcement a year or two ago to all of her friends, and for real expected them to divine her ever-shifting gender-stereotype weather. She gave that up after a few weeks and made another announcement with a stable set of pronouns. I really wanted to take her aside and find out if she understood anything about what she was asking of herself and other people. She's going through a lot of inner work right now so I kind of expect phases of this stuff for a while, and hope that eventually she can relax and just be a woman with all of the complexities that might entail for her sans incessant granular labeling, and not keep doing this to herself and her friends and family. She might be getting validation from others who are similarly stuck in this kind of navel-gazing angst, but it isn't healthy. For anyone.
