No.

They're already trying to rebrand LGBT as GSRM - Gender, Sex, and Romantic Minorities

Why should we rename ourselves because off these colonizing assholes?

We stand and fight against it, we don't bend to their erasure and let them take our words and definitions.

Fair enough, but at one point it becomes too intertwined with the T and that's what people will think of when we say LGB. That's just my view on it. Thanks for sharing it from your point of view!

That's definitely an aspect of what we're fighting for though. Removing that intertwining, and being recognized as separate and unique from the remaining alphabet soup.

Totally hear where you're coming from with "that's what people will think of when we say LGB". It's absolutely part of our struggle, being glommed together as the same despite being different, and I think that's part of why LGB(TQ++++) acceptance has begun declining.

Just be careful because some fuckwits might think that I means Intersex. Which absolutely should not be lumped in with attraction because it's irrelvant, but you know how people are these days.

SSA is already a thing however

  • an intersex guy.

In your opinion as an intersex guy, on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being annoying, and 10 being extremely fucking annoying, how annoying is it when trans activists lump themselves in with/use the existence of intersex people as an excuse to promote their policy?

At least an 11. Especially since they end up being anti-intersex/spreading harmful misinformation by doing so. For example insisting we're all third sexes and never male/female, even though being seen as an "other" is almost always harmful and many of us just want to fit in. Or pushing for laws that acknowledge "nonbinary" people that would backfire on us - if governments legally recognized a third gender and/or sex category, it'd be far easier to ostracize and legally harm intersex people.

Fair point. Thanks for the input!

No, they're the ones who need to change; not us.

Nah, just LGB or GLB. Either will do, but only those two will do it for me.

Then we basically cede the real meanings of Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual to people who are increasingly none of these, but just larpers. Besides, I don't think that exactly rolls off the tongue.

That's a reasonable musing, but there's a peculiar disingenuous feeling that comes with whole phrases being used to describe most things. As much as I really dislike the word "gay", a single word has universal appeal. Plus SSAI reminds me of the dry medical acronym MOAI.
