I used Alias Maya.
It was my own rig design, rather ingenious if I might say so myself, but in ways actually quite elementary.
Animating it was more geeky than usual. No character really to speak of, other than the choreography to the music. The F-Curves were beautiful. I don't know if they're still called that, but the animation curves were like Spirographs across the timeline, something perhaps before your time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirograph
Actually quite easy to animate. Quick too. But the clients on the other hand...
