Hey how come there isn't more hype surrounding bromhexine? If you look at c19early.com, there are a number of over-the-counter drugs with RCTs showing effectiveness. There is a pretty decent chance that these drugs do something against COVID and we already know that the OTC drugs are pretty safe.
Here's how bromhexine works: SARS-Cov-2 has a furin cleavage site which makes the virus replicate much faster. It is a point in the spike protein which can be cut with a 'protease enzyme', which the virus hijacks from the host's cells. The most important protease enzyme is TMPRSS2 and there are a few others. Bromhexine is a TMPRSS2 inhibitor which blocks this cutting action. (At least that's what scientists believe based on studies on cell cultures, where TMPRSS2 inhibitors slow or block the virus' replication.) It's possible that what happens in cell cultures doesn't translate to humans, but there are RCTs showing bromhexine's effectiveness. More replication studies would confirm that the RCT results aren't simply due to publication bias.
Getting bromhexine: Unfortunately, bromhexine isn't approved in the US. That might be why the FLCCC doesn't use it because American doctors in the FLCCC have little experience with the drug. However, bromhexine is sold in many other developed countries. See this DrBeen talk with Dr Harrison and Harrison's website for information on the science and how to get bromhexine.
