Lmao you're totally right, how could I be so racist to be happy to see diversity, I was mainly talking about those people who are throwing racial slurs, which to me isn't really adding much to conversation, nor the racial slurs, but you're right they aren't racist, I'm the racist one for enjoying having different people with different backgrounds hahaha

That comment was a complete straw man and you know it. Please refer to the pyramid of debate because we don't toletate that here.

To reiterate, wanting people of different races on the site for simply the sake of them being a different race, and regardless of their opinions, means you see their value only in terms of a collective and not as individuals. It is an objectification of a people based on an immutable characteristic, their race. That's tokenism and it can be a parallel with racism. It's not born out of hatred but it is still devaluing of a person's individuality based on their race. But I'm not calling you a racist ok, and you need to calm down. I understand how things can be with the current climate, getting labelled racist is awful and shocking especially when you're a nice person.

And as I said, i call out the right wingers when they do it too, so I'm not being biased here.

I'm just saying you should leave race out of it too.

If you're interested in people of different races because you think they might bring something unique to the table that's fine and good and healthy. But at the same time you can't assume they will bring anything beneficial either.

Whether good or bad we should refrain from making judgements and expectations on people because of the colour of their skin.

Edit: it would also be better to label these "right wingers" for what they are. Because they are not libertarians, they're not conservatives, they're not centre-right, they're neo-nazis. Actual neo-nazis. I know. It's depressing we have to share a space with them. Such is the price of liberty. Take solace in the fact they're truly miserable creatures and should be ridiculed at every opportunity.

"If you're interested in people of different races because you think they might bring something unique to the table that's fine and good and healthy." I'm not sure how my initial comment didn't convey this but I think we've gotten off on the wrong foot. Your initial comment made me assume that you were trying to defend the racist people I often see on this site, especially after a different user sent me an entire essay on why women aren't human. My apologies for misunderstanding that. My initial comment was just meant to display my enjoyment of seeing people from different backgrounds join the community as I believe it will lead to better conversations. My remark about right wing white men was simply a slight against the racist commenters I've seen on the sight and nothing more.
