Some of America's founding fathers didn't think the Republic would last more than a couple decades.
Do you have a source for this? I would like to read about this.

If I had to guess, it's something I picked up while listening to The Great Upheaval by Jay Winik on audiobook with my Dad. It's a great book regardless, but I don't know exactly which chapters I missed since he listened to a good portion without me. I have a paper copy I swear I'll read cover to cover someday.
