So you start a site and have no moderation. You allow Loli porn, and hate speech and some really dark misogyny that goes mostly uncensored and then want to whine when you get the worst of the FBI trolling your site?

So the FBI hung out on the darkest, shittiest places on the dark web and then wated for people to come in have a chat and then snagged them?

So the FBI went in to places that had a reputation for being Violent and then acted like other members - and when the hottest of the hotheads agreed to go killing folk they got arrested? That sounds about right. They controlled the environment and bypassed the shit talkers and went straight to the folks they figured would actually take action. That is a sting, not entrapment. Why wonder where the bomb is going to go off when you can control the time and place?

The FBI set up sites on the dark web to catch predators? They set up big signs that said "get your pedo here" and when people waltzed in they got tagged. Again - I see it threading the needle of the law - but if people weren't trolling for naked kids - they wouldn't have gotten caught.

Honestly I love when armchair lawyers like to scream entrapment. They ususally dont know what the hell they are talking about.

Ill tell you something about the FBI and Cops in general - The only difference between Pirates, thugs, criminals, sex offenders and reprobates of all kinds and people in law enforcement is a badge, with maybe 4 in 10 that really want to help and make a difference without compromising their morels.

Again. 8chan was/is a despicable place and cloudflare looked the other way as long as it could. 8chan became somebody they cant do business with any more. Its a business decision. And probably a good one. You will have your hate site back in a day or two. Shit - they cant shut down The Pirate Bay - They cant shut down 8chan either.

8chan is an unmoderated forum, and implicitly a free speech platform.

It's apparent to me that you do not support free speech as a personal value.

Freedom of speech can only be described as a value, if and only if, one can say that they support free speech for those people whose message one despises.

I am willing to tolerate just about anything that is stated; assuming that person actually believes what they are saying.

This is the only free speech personal standard that counts. Anything less than this is hypocrisy.

The anti-hate speech position is morally bankrupt.

It's a thinly veiled form of censorship that is used to suppress others.

I am not surprised that you are in favor of this development. Regardless, I support your right to speak freely about your approval.

Categories of speech that are given lesser or no protection by the First Amendment (and therefore may be restricted) include obscenity, fraud, child pornography, speech integral to illegal conduct, speech that incites imminent lawless action, speech that violates intellectual property law, true threats, etc.

all of which are supported on 4chan and 8chan. There is a difference between free speech and the garbage hate that festers in those corners of the internet. I feel they have little purpose other than to keep society in the dark ages.

I just cannot find myself regretting their shut down.

And look - you make some good arguments and on some level I do agree with you but when I reach down deeper I just cant find myself feeling anything but good that they got sanctioned.

I agree with dissension and we should be able to have it. We should be able to voice our displeasure. But these place talk about killin "Nigger, kikes and Jews and nigger lovers" Etc. and that shit just has no place in a dream of a better society. I think places like that take angry misguided extremely smart and promising kids and weaponizes them.

On reflection, Id say that the FBI fucked up with the manifesto posting and posted it too late. It was deleted almost immediately (no moderation? that's a lie). 8chan was then crippled, so there's no way of checking to find the truth, all we have is the FBI's word that it was 'posted minutes before first 9/11 call'. So even by that, he'd have been phone posting it as he got out of the car, maybe walking through the door.

If it was real, then 8chan was being used as a distribution source, and it responded correctly by deleting and reporting the post to the FBI

Once you learn that everything in the media is a lie, you'll learn that your one sided hatred has been created by someone else. You are a puppet, not a whole person.

Because when that news came out, it was posted after, which makes for an inconvenient truth, for sure. Then the narrative changed, because even the public isn't too stupid to put 2 and 2 together and spot a leftist troll.
