I was thinking the topic is about the belief installed in quite a few people that "hate can be the only possible basis for some preferences."

The linked comment contains several examples.

This should be of concern to people who are still rational, as they're programming this into kids in many school systems.

Municipal Fiber Optics here. I have a Gig up and down for less than $70 a month unlimited and we cut the cable and only stream now. Comcrap sends us junk mail 2 or 3 times a week begging us to come back and they set up in grocery stores almost every day. They even tried going door to door to get people to drop fiber and get Comcrap. AT&T just shruged and basically gave up; they are still an option but I don't know anyone that uses them. Cable companies get really humble when they have competition.

My little California town gives me a bunch of choices, including a couple cable providers. I use the local internet provider that's been around since the early 90s, and I pay about $80.

The nice thing about using a local provider is being able to walk over to their business and talk to someone, and pay my bill directly.

Like other states, there are terrible areas in California, and many places with high risk. Thankfully, there are people willing to live in those places instead of all trying to cram into the nice places.

I haven't read all of Handshake's docs, so I'm not sure if .forever is any different than other domains using Handshake. That should go in its comparison table or FAQ.

It also doesn't say whether the domain can be pointed to things other than IP addresses, or whether it's more flexible than standard DNS records. Some entire ASNs have been blacklisted for no reason at all.

After I moved, I was looking for a good provider for internet and TV. But since there was a lot of choice, I decided to read reviews and analytics in order to better understand with whom it would be better to conclude a contract. For example, I found a lot of reviews about the company "att" https://att.pissedconsumer.com/review.html where I just learned about how they connect, how stable and so on. It's good that I found this portal with reviews to put together a complete picture. So I think it's worthwhile to explore!

If I'm reading this right, they believe that parsing even more semantic meaning form a query will deliver in better results.

Yet their current attempts have turned their product into AltaVista-style trash. It doesn't believe what I type. That's why I don't use Google. Bing is worse in one respect, which I guess has similar purpose to this paper: Bing doesn't allow you to exclude terms any more.

Congratulations for almost ten years since they flipped the switch for failing to search the web. It sure is profitable.

It's a new permanent change. It only happens when you click on a business to see info or photos.etc: I think it's cause they want me to go mobile only. I won't do it not for all the gold in China. I am guessing your also not on mobile so they are shrinking the screen down to fit better on tiny phone screens. Phone people are generally morons to begin with so they don't know it can be any better and the people who program now are part of that mobile generation mindset.

The internet has rotted to the core and I think part of that is the Mandela Effect as I posted which in this timeline it's 'Always been that way' but not to us who switched.

The key is organization. There is a huge group of people very angry about the state of our "leadership", but we are fractured, chaotic, and willing to sit here behind our keyboards bitching.

What is needed is a charismatic leadership who can unify enough of these various threads (reply to a particular group of the lies) to create a viable counter-force.

Trump - the good and bad:

Good. Trump has the charisma and he has a 'brand'. This provides a nucleus from which to begin.

Bad. I'm not at all convinced that Trump wants fundamental change. Rather than wanting to tear down the power which has concentrated in so few hands over the past 80 years (his lifetime), Trump wants to manipulate that power. Thus he handed off the same power he received plus a little (just like all presidents have done since WWII) to Obiden.

He's better than what has followed him, but a long-term solution he is not.

The establishment is now lying on so many fronts that they have a lot of balls in the air. I believe they have made the tactical decision that the easiest path (lowest energy required) is simply silence. Rather than try to engage with any of the many impossibilities of the dominant narrative, they simply censor discussion and keep moving forward.

Each of these lies is gathering more opposition to them, however. We can only hope they are overwhelmed with opposition from a million fronts before they can find the tools they need to crush it entirely. Human decency and our ability to control any aspect of our own life depend on the results of this horse race.

Bing is probably the best search engine for porn tho. It has its niche.

First, Jews have a monopoly on the Internet. Second, duckduckgo is owned by Gabriel Weinberg that openly stated that they rank searched and also target people based on search. They often hide blogs that are agaisnt the status quo.

Yes, Gates is Jewish. He came from the Goetz family, Ashkenazi Jews, and his grandparents changed their names to Gates upon coming to America. His grandfather was a banker.

Bill Gates father, Bill Gates Sr., made the decision a long time ago to hide the fact he’s Jewish because he thinks there are far too many “prominent Jews” in America and doesn’t want people to gain suspicion of this fact.

So, just like that, he became a Christian. Funny thing is, Bill Gates Sr. has a history of doing this. If you check his bio on Wikipedia, it says he changed his name from Bill Gates II to simply Bill Gates Jr. “to avoid the appearance of elitism,” he openly states in the article.

When the Troonsburg empire (comprising allied Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and whatever the Frenchies use) no longer suffers your travel through their servers, and the pope of Cloudflare gets up on the wrong side of bed one day, and you find at your e-stoop the mindless mechanical Han hoardes, I hope you have some carrier pigeons you won't need to eat, so you can tell any friends and family who relied on your services that the duchy hasn't fallen, and it's just a scratch.

I think DDG proxies Bing, so Microsoft probably got a big idea. I don't see why they don't make their own thing.

I have used Duck Duck Go for over a year and I’ve been noticing within the last few months that when I’m watching a video or talking about something the predictive text has been popping up what I’ve been watching or talking about. I don’t know if this is an issue with my Apple phone or if it’s duck duck go but it’s suspicious.

I don't even use Google to search now - except for images, maps, and translations - all rare, if I can't find it via the alternatives.

I switch over to the Brave browser a few months ago. Microsoft in incompetitent, Mozilla hates you and wants you to die if you think for yourself (and are quickly dying), and Google steals your data.

I switched over to DuckDuckGo as my main browser and only use google if I need something very specific that doesn't pop up on DDG. I'm in the Brave Search Beta and it looks decent, only real issue I've seen is location based searches doesn't work.
