This is trendy and suboptimal. I fast 2 consecutive days each week which absolutely forces fat burning. This is simpler and more effective.

Everyone's different. I lost a lot of weight years ago by intermittent fasting without knowing what it was. I was going to school 8 hours a day, working 6 to 8 hours a night, and going to the gym every other morning. I was too tired or busy to eat during most of the day. I think the key to finding your ideal weight is to only eat when hungry and only enough to satisfy that hunger. For some with blood/sugar issues, that can be small amounts every four hours. For some like you and me, that can be one or two medium sized meals a day, and even going two or three days only consuming liquids.
