    only a few japanese like the okinawans seem based. The others either support it, or dont care or are mostly clueless about politics at all

      I think that's because of their bad economy taking up all of their time and energy. The plaza accord and bubble burst destroyed a lot of jobs and the restructuring destroyed any job security that was left.

      They should be aware that those things are straight up linked with politics, so I don't see their indifference as an excuse for many of them who are aged twenty six and older.

      They wanted to be the 'superior beings of asia' where they sit on top of a podium along with westoids looking down on the others, and now they are facing the consequences of that

        Yeah but other people from those "democratic" countries outside the west have not been industrialized in a long time, while some are recovering just now. To make matters worse, they're largely poor and illiterate with no or little access to the internet about news from different sources, making them less educated than their affluent japanese counterparts. They have somewhat of an excuse, whereas not so much for the japanese.
