I never saw Orange Is The New Black, so did TIM Laverne Cox play a TIM or a woman?

If the former, that show has a lot of real life grief to answer for normalizing this violation of women's basic human rights.

I only watched 2.5 seasons, but Laverne Cox did play a TIM character. I'm pretty sure the character was post-op and had been for a few years, so at least it wasn't a blatant abuse of the self-id loophole.

And therein lies the problem - TiMs in the media are portrayed sympathetically, like old school trans-sexuals - gay, harmless, neutered.

And Cox's character in this popular show probably softened the public to the idea of TiMs in women's prisons, when the reality is often violet, sex offenders in prison for life (if you look at California's statistics on TiMs in prison).

The whole premise for the show was deliberate, is my bet. The puppet masters behind the trans train are pretty sneaky about the way they do things.

Absolutely - since its inception, Hollywood has been used to soften up the public for what the Powers That Be want them to think.

Look back at the wave of pro-trans entertainment propaganda - off the top of my head, Transamerica, Transparent, Orange Is The New Black, The Danish Girl (the Redmayne movie)...
