The irony of the woke having a go at Battletech is that setting is probably the one where the various forms of oppression that they eternally seethe about are the least prevalent, given how humans have spread and mixed in the 1,000-odd years since leaving Earth. And while there is bigotry on display, it's mostly in the form of extreme nationalism--particularly from the Draconis Combine, Capellan Confederation, and Taurian Concordat--or the oddly aggressive stance against artificial body parts that the Free Worlds League displays (which I don't ever recall there being an explanation for, though the WoB eventually put some justification to the dislike).

On the other hand, we are talking about the woke here, and they're like vermin infesting a house; they don't need an active reason to move in, make themselves at home, and start destroying shit.
