Sounds like the Politifact little legal tiff with Candace Owens, and subsequent retreat from her lawsuit, may of provided inspiration for these 'factcheckers' many other victims:

Could the legal floodgates now be opened to a deluge of lawsuits...and if so, will Susan Wojcicki, Zucky Zoidberg, and lil Jackie Dorsey be able to erect a legal DMZ between themselves and their factchecking toadies, to prevent being sucked into court? Inquiring minds want to know!
