There is much symbolism in the imagery of this vision the Lord gave Ezekiel, which I do not yet understand well. But I am reminded today that the Lord considers it an abomination to worship the physical sun.

"[...]and they worshipped the sun toward the east. Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here?"

There are people that try to destroy the faith, and one of their arguments is that Christians worship the sun, but this is not true. And the book of the Christians, the Holy Bible, says clearly here in Ezekiel chapter 8 that the Lord considers that an abomination. We worship the Son of God (Jesus), not the physical sun.
