See here's the thing: If the feds want to do it, it's bad. If they say it's good then you should run away screaming. As an hypothetical: The "Everybody Loves Puppies and Kittens Act of 2023" which you get shouted-down for being against? The one that will pass with unanimous support? Yeah, it's a bill to castrate all boys and subject them to sex slavery.

When someone in CONGRESS says they are trying to protect your children, suspect their motives ALWAYS. If these octogenarians are trying to restrict online activity, you can be certain they are fucking it up, and badly.

I've heard people get child porn convictions from even possessing legal images, or not knowing someone wasn't 18. They say you have to prove the images are of legal age models and that's exceedingly difficult to do.

I'm not sure how true it is, but knowing our legal system, it seems plausible.
