It's difficult for women to be funny because we have an instinct to care for them when they're in need. But other men are competition, so your brain sees their struggling as a positive. Women in pain make us feel bad for them. Men in pain make us laugh.

If you trace it long enough everything eventually goes back to "the universe is evil and operated by demons".
