This is the price we pay for having beverages and products that can stay edible or drinkable for weeks or months. If you brew the same tea at home, no preservatives. I agree that it's creepy, though. I have taken myself off of most processed and sugary food (except the occasional donut, 'cause I love donuts) and on a whim, tried a coke with coffee a few weeks ago. Had a twelve-hour-long panic attack as a result. Yikes! It tasted great, but freaked me out.

Kind of makes you wonder if a lot of kids' ADHD, hyper-sensitivity, and inability to cope with anything is caused, in part, by food ingredients. Oh, yeah, and screen time.

Thanks for sharing your experience.... I will stay away from the Coke + coffee combo. There are already so many things in this world that can have the effect of inducing anxiety. It helps me keep my peace by staying in God's word every day. As much as I eat physical food for my physical body, I try to also eat at least the same amount or more of spiritual food for my spiritual body. God's Word really is amazing at keeping the spirit calm and at peace. Peace is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.
