What do you think the current probably is for a sword compared to powerlines and would they be surprised if I thought of that? Much like how in electricity based shrines you can make a line of metal weapons to force a current in unintended ways?

Powerlines can be up to 1000 Amps, which is more enough to kill you thousands of times over. Can't imagine even a magic electric sword would be packing that kind of current just at the hilt

So in Hyrule with Link using his Shiekah Slate I broke into an electric office to 'obtain' the protective equipment (and take nothing else other then what's needed to protect me against that magical sword) where would the equipment likely be located and how would the 'Hyrulean Times' likely report on this bizarre night time robbery where no money/valuables was taken nor anything damaged then later I return the protection items in it's original conditions but keep the sword? Should I give the sword also to the power line workers? Would they have any use of it's electrical protection energy?
