My advice for staying cheerful here is to develop a good sense of whom to ignore. The edgy people either want grunted praise or a gutter-fight, nothing in between.

That's not to say there aren't people here with outside of mainstream views who are willing to gather up some evidence and discuss their thoughts, but that much is often clear from the first post.
