The US did win the invasion of Grenada in 83, but honestly the island was so small that it shouldn't even count.

The United States and a coalition of 6 six Caribbean nations invaded the island nation of Grenada, to put that into context it would be like the US, UK, Germany taking over Honolulu. And good thing you brought that up, the US needed help from the Serbia, Russia, France, Britain, Italy to win ww1 then in ww2 Great Britain, the United States, and the Soviet Union.

So the US us incapable of winning without much help.
