No timing required. Determine the trajectory and send a rocket down that trajectory in the opposite direction.

No timing required.

This could work if you could:

Determine the trajectory and send a rocket down that trajectory in the opposite direction.

How would you determine this?
There's a radar that does this for artillery, but it can only determine this info after the ordinance land. It can't see the future.

You are proposing an interceptor that doesn't require precise timing. It's a contradiction.

Your belief in the limitations of top secret military tech is silly. The travel time of missiles will allow for several minutes of calculations. Some guessing will be involved, but given that you already know where your high value assets are it's quite an educated guess.

Israel has the best "iron dome" US taxpayers can buy, yet the slowest, crappiest rockets imaginable keep getting through. Regularly.

Isreal keeps shooting those rockets at itself to collect ungodly amounts of welfare money from countries around the world. They receive more aid than any other country despite being one of the richest per capita. Those "rockets" conveniently NEVER kill anyone.

Well, it's still a piece of crap defense, because it's insanely difficult.

Lasers could potentially disable a missile, but it's still going to crash into something.

It's an exceptionally difficult technical problem. Mach 2 is faster than most every bullet. My

The target is much larger, but it's only in a given space for an instant. Literally, an instant.

Missle defenses are about as useful as cloth masks.
They're useless.

Maybe your missile defense is shit, but the US had no problem defending against missiles in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, or anywhere else that top brass had their chairs.

None of them have decent missiles.

Every war is a proxy war and every shit tier military get weapons from stronger countries. But I guess you're right, the missiles just aren't good enough and that is the only reason missile defense does actually work. 🙄
